Oronte / Alcina ETO

As Oronte, the tenor Nathan Vale is proving once again that he is a fast rising star of the baroque world.  I have had the pleasure of seeing Mr Vale on numerous occasions since he won the Handel Singing Competition in 2006, and have been impressed by his continual development.  He possesses an attractive, quintessentially English-sounding tenor that is bright, flexible and very handsome.  His singing was never less than stylish and his acting was highly convincing.  I will look forward to seeing more of this promising young tenor in the future.
Antony Lias / Opera Britannia

Nathan Vale's voice has darkened and filled out since I first heard him singing for the London Handel Festival. But he remains a fine singer of Handel's music and he brought an easy facility to Oronte's music.
Robert Hugill

Lurcanio / Ariodante ETO

Tenor Nathan Vale sang with wonderful clarity of tone and graceful phrasing throughout.  Winner of the 2006 London Handel Singing Competition, his elegant, stylish tenor is a delight to listen to, combined with an attractive stage presence and a talent for acting which made his Lurcanio a far more sympathetic and well-rounded character, rather than merely a vengeful plot cipher.
Faye Courtney / Opera Britannia

Nathan Vale..made as much of the part as it will carry and gave us some fine singing.
Mike Reynolds / Musical Critisism

Acis and Galatea / Transition Opera

I particularly liked Nathan Vale's honeyed Damon.
Robert Thicknesse / Opera Now

Nathan Vale is full of tender concern as Acis's chum, Damon.
Neil Fisher / The Times

Nathan Vale was a fresh-voiced Damon.
Barry Millington / Evening Standard

Poro / London Handel Festival

Silver-voiced tenor Nathan Vale makes a superb Alexander, and his obvious pleasure in (and talent for) fastcoloratura is infectiously enjoyable.
Metro / Warwick Thompson

His tenor is very flexible and has an interesting darkness in the timbre that suggests that it may develop into something rather different, given time. His control in the many, many divisions (almost armies) of semi-quavers that his character is blessed with was remarkable.
Sue Loder, Opera Today 2007

As Alessandro, Nathan Vale immediately showed that there is an important new tenor who can cope with the demands of the most florid baroque writing, act convincingly at the same time, and convey a wide range of moods by refined colourings of his voice. A star is born.
Michael Tanner, The Spectator

Bach Evangelist

It was Nathan Vale as the Evangelist, who unfolded the dramatic narrative throughout with great understanding and nuanced phrasing. He stood, as his role demands, as the true cornerstone of the performance, exquisitely controlling the pace of the drama, singing with a variety of tone, colour and delivery that was worthy of the world's very finest exponents of this part.
Richard Langam

Recital

Stourbridge-born singer Nathan Vale has a high lyric tenor voice excellently suited to this repertoire, and with his sensitivity, conviction and ardour I was reminded at times of a singer from another generation, Wilfred Brown.
John Gough, Birmingham Post
